Bollywood legend Dharmendra, fondly known as the 'OG He-Man,' has been admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after complaining of breathlessness. The news sparked immediate concern among his millions of fans and the wider film fraternity.

The 89-year-old veteran actor is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), but latest updates from the hospital indicate his condition is stable. Journalist Vickey Lalwani shared an update on social media after reportedly contacting the hospital, providing reassuring details directly from a staff member.

“Dharmendra came in complaining of breathlessness. He is in the ICU and he is sleeping now. Nothing to worry, I asked? No, right now nothing to worry. He is stable. His parameters are okay—the heart rate is 70, the blood pressure is 140 by 80. His urine output is also good,” he stated in a social media post.

While initial reports had suggested the visit was for a routine check-up, the hospital’s confirmation that the actor was admitted due to difficulty in breathing has clarified the severity of the episode. Doctors are closely monitoring the nonagenarian star, and his sons, actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are said to be by his side.

Despite his age-related health concerns, Dharmendra has remained remarkably active. He last appeared in the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and is slated to star in the war drama Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan.

Single Salma Movie Review Synopsis: SINGLE SALMA is the story of an independent woman. 33-year-old Salma Rizvi (Huma Qureshi) works in the municipal department of Lucknow and lives with her father (Kanwaljit Singh), mother and brother Subhan (Sachin Kavetham). The family is dependent on Salma completely. She’s the only working person in the family and she also helped her elder sisters get married. Their ancestral house is mortgaged and Salma is trying her best to pay back all the dues to the corrupt real estate giant, Rastogi (Sharad Raj Singh). The pressure to get married compels Salma to go for arranged marriage meetups, but she fails to find even a remotely decent match. Finally, she comes across Sikandar Khan (Shreyas Talpade), a semi-literate man who runs an apparel shop. Salma is impressed by his humility and struggles and agrees to marry him. This is when she is asked to go to London for two months as part of the Lucknow Smart City project. Her family is against the idea, but Sikandar encourages her to take the plunge. In London, Salma works equally hard and also finds the much-needed independence. She also meets Meet Singh (Sunny Singh) and before she realizes, she is attracted to him. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Single Salma Movie Story Review: Amina Khan and Ravi Kumar's story is very promising. But Amina Khan and Ravi Kumar's screenplay is bland and gives a déjà vu of certain films. Mudassar Aziz's dialogues add to the fun, but such one-liners are also few and far between.

Nachiket Samant's direction fails to entice. To give credit where it's due, the message is easy to understand and comes across in a simple and concise manner. Secondly, a few scenes stand out like Salma and Sikandar's first meet, Salma's day at the beach, Sikandar bashing up Babban (Shiv Kanungo), Salma's clarification, etc.

On the flipside, the film moves at a slow pace. In the absence of sufficient humour and drama, the narrative becomes too dry. The overall track of Salma enjoying in a non-judgmental environment reminds one of QUEEN [2014] while Sikandar’s speech seems inspired by Akshay Kumar’s broken English lecture sequence in PAD MAN [2018]. A few developments are silly. Salma’s picture goes viral and even her family is aware of it. But Salma doesn’t get a whiff of it at all and she learns about it only once she’s home from the trip. The makers tried to give a hatke conclusion to the story. However, the finale fails to have the desired impact.

Single Salma Movie Review Performances: Huma Qureshi tries a bit too hard to be serious in the initial scenes, but gets better later on. She proves her worth in the dialogue-heavy scenes, especially. Shreyas Talpade is impressive from the first scene itself. Sunny Singh’s accent appears a bit awkward initially. Yet, he passes muster, thanks to his overall performance. Kanwaljit Singh is dependable as always, while Sachin Kavetham leaves a huge mark. Nidhi Singh (Ratna), Aasif Khan (Rajiv), Lauren Gottlieb (Zoya) and Navni Parihar (Nirmala Shrivastav) are highly memorable. Sharon Drain (Taranjeet's partner), Sunny Gill (Taranjeet; Meet's grandfather), Devasheesh (Trumpet Raja), Shiv Kanungo and Sharad Raj Singh manage to make their presence felt. Akanksha Pandey (Shabana; Salma's sister) and Digvijay Pratap Singh (Nitesh) don’t get much scope.

Single Salma movie music and other technical aspects: None of the songs – the title track, 'Saiyaan Re Aaja Saiyaan', 'Drive Me Krazy', 'Sun Rahe Ho Na' and 'Bepaarwah' – are memorable. The background score is well-woven into the narrative.

Andrew Boulter's cinematography captures the locales of Lucknow and London with finesse. Tariq Umar Khan's production design is realistic. Veera Kapur Ee's costumes are authentic and the change in Salma's wardrobe is depicted convincingly. Ashish Tripathi and Abhishek Anand's editing should have been fast-paced.

Single Salma Movie Review Conclusion: On the whole, SINGLE SALMA makes an important comment but falls flat due to the slow-moving narrative and an unimpressive climax. At the box office, it has got a token release of sorts and will largely go unnoticed.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is embarking on a heartfelt mission to revive the iconic RK Studios, originally established by his legendary grandfather Raj Kapoor, according to a report by Mid-Day. The revival is not just a business move but a tribute to the Kapoor family legacy, with Ranbir focusing on producing films that carry the spirit of RK Studios while infusing a modern voice to resonate with today’s audience. The report mentions that plans are well underway, with several scripts shortlisted and production anticipated to begin soon.

As part of the revival, Ranbir aims to re-establish the studio as a prominent creative hub in Mumbai, possibly including an office space and screening theater to foster collaboration in the industry. The initiative also marks a continuation of his late father Rishi Kapoor’s dream to carry forward the family’s cinematic heritage. Alongside Ranbir’s directorial debut, the revived studio will back projects featuring some of Bollywood’s top talents, including collaborations with Deepika Padukone and director Ayan Mukerji.

The reopening of RK Studios is expected to be a grand affair, paying homage to its golden era under Raj Kapoor, and serves as a symbolic passing of the torch to the next generation of filmmakers. RK Studios, established by the legendary Raj Kapoor in 1948, produced some of the most iconic films in Indian cinema including Awaara (1951), Barsaat (1949), Mera Naam Joker (1970), Bobby (1973), Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978), Prem Rog (1982), and Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985), which was Kapoor's last film before his death.

The last film produced under the RK Films banner was Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999), directed by Rishi Kapoor. Over time, RK Studios faced a decline as the film industry shifted locations to Mumbai’s northern suburbs. The 2017 fire that gutted the studio during a reality show shoot was the final blow, destroying invaluable memorabilia, costumes, and the physical studio space. Red Chillies Entertainment has filed its official reply to Sameer Wankhede’s defamation suit against The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the Netflix show he claims was designed to tarnish his reputation. Wankhede, the former NCB officer who led the 2021 drugs case involving Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, had approached the court alleging that the makers had portrayed a character resembling him in both appearance and mannerisms.

In its response, Red Chillies Entertainment maintained that the series is a Bollywood satire, and all characters in it are depicted with deliberately exaggerated traits to heighten the humour. The production house argued that the complaint was an attempt to curtail artistic and creative freedom and described Wankhede’s stance as an instance of “hypersensitivity.”

The reply further pointed out that Wankhede’s image had already been subject to widespread public scrutiny long before the show’s release. According to the filing, the former officer’s involvement in the Aryan Khan case had drawn considerable criticism and ridicule, as reflected in news coverage, social media discussions, and public commentary at the time. Red Chillies stated that these materials clearly demonstrated that his reputation had been affected earlier, and that the lawsuit was an attempt to silence satirical portrayals that fall under creative expression.

Represented by senior advocates Neeraj Kishan Kaul and Shyel Trehan, the production company also requested the court to allow the show to remain intact, asserting that removing the contested scene would disrupt the series’ narrative flow. The makers clarified that the show does not directly name or reference Wankhede, and that the police officer character is merely depicted as an “overzealous” cop — a common trope in dark comedies and satires.

The case, which came up before Justice Purushindra Kumar on Thursday, has now been adjourned to November 10 for further proceedings.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood, streaming on Netflix, has drawn attention for its unapologetically sharp commentary on celebrity culture, media frenzy, and the moral ambiguity within the film industry — themes that continue to spark debate about where the line between satire and defamation should be drawn.

Bollywood fans have every reason to celebrate as legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly joined the cast of the highly anticipated Salman Khan starrer Battle of Galwan. This marks a spectacular reunion for Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, two of Bollywood’s biggest icons, who haven’t collaborated in a major film for quite some time. Social media erupted with fans expressing their excitement and disbelief at the prospect of witnessing the on-screen magic of these legends together once again. Alongside them, Govinda is also expected to feature in the film, adding even more star power to the project.​

Battle Of Galwan Cast and Crew Details

The film also stars Chitrangda Singh as the female lead and includes pivotal roles for actors like Abhilash Chaudhary, Ankur Bhatia, Vipin Bhardwaj, Abhishree Sen, Nirbhay Chaudhary, Siddharth Mooley, and Zeyn Shaw. After making a mark in cinemas, Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 will find its way on OTT, on October 31. Prominent streaming giant Amazon Prime Video will stream the film’s original Kannada version, as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, for now. The Hindi version of the period drama will be released digitally a month later. Bollywood Hungama has learned of an interesting development that took place with regard to the digital deal.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers of Kantara: A Legend Chapter – 1 asked for Rs. 125 crores for the OTT rights, considering the buzz around the film. They approached Netflix and it agreed to offer Rs. 100 crores. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video gave a better deal and offered Rs. 110 crores for the streaming rights. This is how the film has made its way on Prime Video.”

This marks the second-highest OTT deal ever for a Kannada film. KGF - Chapter 2 (2022) still holds the top spot, with its digital rights fetching over Rs. 300 crores. Interestingly, both KGF and Kantara franchises are backed by Hombale Films, a banner that deserves credit for placing Kannada cinema on the global map through these monumental successes.

Kantara starred Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Kishore and Achyuth Kumar in leading roles. It tells the story of a carefree young lad in a forest in Karnataka who rises as a hero when a greedy landlord, believed to be friendly with the villagers, tries to usurp the land treacherously. The villagers are devotees of Panjurli, a demigod protecting the forest's villagers and this aspect plays an important part in the story.

As for Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1, it stars Rishab Shetty along with Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah and Jayaram. This film attempts to delve deeper into the origins of the mythological tradition and ancestral conflict introduced in the first film. Both films are directed by Rishab Shetty. Interestingly, Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 ends with the promise of a sequel named Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 2.

The Bachchan legacy continues as Agastya Nanda steps into the spotlight once again this time in Sriram Raghavan’s much-awaited war drama Ikkis. The film’s trailer introduces Agastya as Param Vir Chakra awardee Arun Khetarpal, one of India’s youngest and most celebrated war heroes.

A week ago, the Gujarati film Vash Level 2 and its Hindi-dubbed version, Vash Vivash Level 2, were released on Netflix on October 22. The move was significant as it’s rare for the streaming giant to pick up a Gujarati film. And that’s not all. Vash Level 2 has been procured by Netflix for a record price.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Netflix has paid a whopping Rs. 3.50 crores for the digital rights of Vash Level 2 and Vash Vivash Level 2. This is the highest price ever paid to a Gujarati film by an OTT platform.”

The source explained, “Netflix paid the record amount as Vash Level 2 is very well-made and has been well-received by the audience when it was released in cinemas. The makers had dubbed the film in Hindi, which also found its way into cinemas; this further motivated Netflix, as even non-Gujarati audiences had an opportunity to enjoy the film in the dubbed version. Thirdly, it belongs to the supernatural genre, which has a lot of takers globally.”

The source continued, “Another reason is that the Vash series is famous among moviegoers. It is common knowledge that the much-loved 2024 Hindi film Shaitaan, starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan and Jyothika, was a remake of the first part, which came out in 2023. Hence, there has been a curiosity to check out the second part. And lastly, Vash recently won the Best Gujarati Feature Film Award as well as the Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Janki Bodiwala at the 71st National Awards. Janki also played the same role in Shaitaan and she, too, has become recognizable. All these factors prompted Netflix to go against the norm and pay the said amount for the rights of Vash Level 2 and Vash Vivash Level 2.”

Another industry insider commented, “As per the deal, Netflix will stream the film for 3 ½ years. Moreover, Netflix will be the only platform where both versions of the film will be available exclusively for a year. A year later, the makers will have the freedom to stream their film on some other platform as well.”

A prominent producer revealed that this is a proud moment for Gujarati cinema, “Earlier, Gujarati films used to be paid on a viewership basis and used to earn less than a crore through this arrangement. Hence, the Netflix deal of Vash Level 2 is significant. If the film gets sufficient views, it’ll encourage Netflix and other platforms to buy the rights of other Gujarati films, at a handsome price. It’ll also give an impetus to Gujarati filmmakers to experiment with topics and find an audience beyond the Gujarati diaspora.”

This Friday will see the release of Baahubali: The Epic. It combines two Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) into one part, as part of the tenth anniversary celebrations of the former. This is a novel experiment and has probably never been done before in the world. Some moviegoers and industry personalities doubted if viewers would rewatch a film that they have consumed repeatedly and that too in this unique form. However, the risk seems to have paid off. The advance booking down South and Overseas for the original Telugu audience is outstanding.

It is common knowledge that Baahubali: The Epic has a run time of 3 hours and 45 minutes. Bollywood Hungama has now learned about the duration of the first half and second half of the film. A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “The pre-interval portion of Baahubali: The Epic is 1 hours 42 minutes and 33 seconds long. The second half is longer than 2 hours. The exact length of the second half is 2 hours, 3 minutes and 11 seconds. The total duration of the film, thus, is 3 hours 45 minutes and 44 seconds.”

Just 1 interval

In the past, such lengthy films have had not one, but two intermission points. Old-timers recollect that Raj Kapoor-starrer Sangam (1964), which was 238 minutes long, that is, 3 hours and 58 minutes long, had two intervals. Mera Naam Joker (1970) was 255 minutes long, that is, 4 hours and 15 minutes, and it also had two interval points. In recent times, Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) had an interval twice after the longer cut was released in cinemas. Over the years, the twin interval system was dropped. Films like Mohabbatein (2000; 215 minutes), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001; 210 minutes), Animal (2023; 203 minutes), The Bengal Files (2025; 204 minutes) etc. have been released with just one intermission point.

Coming back to Baahubali: The Epic, Baahubali: The Beginning had a runtime of 159 minutes, while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion clocked 167 minutes. This means that together, the two parts originally ran for a total of 326 minutes, or 5 hours and 26 minutes. In contrast, Baahubali: The Epic is just 225 minutes long, making it shorter by 101 minutes. It remains to be seen how the makers have condensed the two monumental chapters of the saga into one cohesive narrative without compromising on the grandeur, emotion, and continuity that made Baahubali a cultural phenomenon.

Actress Ananya Panday is just a day away from turning 27 on October 30, 2025. As per the latest buzz, the first look of her upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri is set to be unveiled on her birthday, followed by the trailer launch on co-star Kartik Aaryan’s 35th birthday, November 22.

A report by Mid-Day quoted a source saying, “The team wanted the first-look reveal to feel special, and Ananya’s birthday felt like the perfect occasion.” The insider further added, “Through their marketing strategy, the makers want to celebrate both leads—first Ananya with the poster, then Kartik with the trailer.”

Meanwhile, Kartik recently opened up about reuniting with Ananya after Pati Patni Aur Woh. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, he said, “The film has shaped up beautifully; it’s got that perfect mix of heart, fun, and festive energy. We had a blast shooting it, and that vibe translates on screen. Reuniting with Ananya was like picking up where we left off—she was a total live wire on set. She’s going to surprise everyone. I’m sure the audience will enjoy our chemistry as Ray and Rumi in this fun, refreshing rom-com.”

For the unversed, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri marks Kartik’s first collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, while it will be Ananya’s sixth project under the banner after Student Of The Year 2, Gehraiyaan, Liger, Call Me Bae, and Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. Besides this, Ananya also has her seventh Dharma project, Chand Mera Dil, co-starring Lakshya Lalwani, in the pipeline. So far, only the announcement video of Tu Meri Main Tera… has been released. The film is directed by Sameer Vidwans.

Filmmaker Karan Johar has expanded his footprint in the hospitality industry with the launch of his new restaurant, Oju, in Gurugram. Co-owned by Johar and Truepalate Hospitality, and designed by Aayushi Malik Designs, Oju offers a modern interpretation of classic Japanese design aesthetics.

Located on Gurgaon’s very own “Ginza” — the Golf Course Road — the 120-seater, ground-floor restaurant draws inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of Shibui, which celebrates understated beauty and purpose in every detail. The 5,000-square-foot space features natural stone flooring, warm wood cladding, and abundant natural light, creating a serene atmosphere defined by balance and simplicity.

Oju, which opened its doors in September 2025, marks Johar’s second venture in the restaurant business. His first, Neuma, opened in Mumbai’s Colaba in May 2022, occupying the iconic Garden Chalet bungalow that once housed the landmark restaurant Indigo. However, it is “temporarily closed for a thoughtful refresh,” and will reopen soon.

According to widely shared posts on social media platform X, it is alleged that the Balochistan government has added Salman Khan’s name to Pakistan’s ‘Fourth Schedule’ under the country’s Anti-Terrorism Act (1997). If Salman Khan’s name is indeed on the list, it would subject him to strict legal scrutiny, travel restrictions, and ongoing government vigilance.

A notification dated October 16, 2025, attributed to social media user Nasir Azeem, has been circulated as evidence of the declaration. The document names Salman as an “Azad Balochistan Facilitator”; however, as of now, no credible Pakistani media outlet or official government channel has confirmed the document’s authenticity, raising questions about the veracity of the claims.

The uproar began after a video clip from the Riyadh Forum showed Salman Khan, while discussing the influence of Indian films in the Middle East, remarking that there are people in Saudi Arabia from “Balochistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan,” appearing to mention Balochistan separately. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were also present on stage at that moment.

Salman’s statement was, “Right now, if you make a Hindi film and release it in Saudi Arabia, it will be a superhit. If you make a Tamil, Telugu, or Malayali film, it will do hundreds of crores in business because so many people from other countries have come here. There are people from Balochistan, there are people from Afghanistan, there are people from Pakistan, everyone is working here”.

As it stands, Salman Khan has not commented publicly on the controversy, and the Balochistan government has not released any official statement confirming his inclusion on the Fourth Schedule of Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Act. However, the War 2 debacle has taken a toll on the impact of cameo in Alpha, and hence, sources inform that Aditya Chopra has picked up the call on Shah Rukh Khan, requesting him to make a cameo appearance in Alpha. A source told Bollywood Hugama, "At the moment, Pathaan is the most talked about character of the Spy Universe. Aditya Chopra has picked up the call on Shah Rukh Khan to make a cameo in Alpha. He has designed a special part for him, which leads to Pathaan 2. Shah Rukh Khan has asked for some time to think over the same, as he has allotted bulk dates to King at the moment."

Aditya Chopra has requested 3 to 4 shoot days in early November, as Alpha is gearing up for a Christmas 2025 release. "Shah Rukh Khan had blocked the entire November for the shoot of King, but at the request of Adi, he is trying to reschedule the commitment to make his cameo in Alpha a reality. He will confirm his presence in a week to 10 days. If not a proper cameo, he might just shoot for an end-credit sequence of Alpha." Adi is also trying to crack a cameo for Salman Khan as Tiger in Alpha, but the writing is yet to be completed. "He will approach Salman only when the cameo's impact is as good as the one for Tiger in Pathaan had."

Alpha is directed by Shiv Ravail and is set for a Christmas 2025 release.

A source told us, “The makers decided to go all out with the scene of Betaal vs Bhediya. Hence, a mind-boggling amount of Rs. 20 crores was spent just on that sequence. Producer Dinesh Vijan was clear – the fight scene should have top-class VFX that should stun the viewers. After all, the scene is very crucial for the future of the universe.”

The source further said, “Amar Kaushik, the founder and mentor of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, serves as the producer of Thamma. But for the crucial scene of Bhediya, he was present on the set to supervise. A lot was at stake; so, Amar decided to be present when the scene was being filmed. Thamma’s director, Aditya Sarpotdar, was informed about it in advance and he understood Amar’s point of view. He was more than happy to have Amar on the set and was also more than happy to take his valuable inputs.”

Thamma starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal.

However, it turns out that the veteran actor has not signed Drishyam 3. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke to him recently and when asked if he has bagged a role in the thriller as speculated, he replied, “No, I have not. There’s no truth to these reports at all.”

Was he offered a role in Drishyam 3? Paresh Rawal said, “Yes, the makers did approach me. But I didn’t feel that the rule was suitable for me. Maza nahin aaya (on reading about my part).”

Paresh Rawal added, “But the script is very good. I was really impressed. But even in a compelling script, you need a role that you feel excited about. Warna maza nahin aayega.”

This writer then reminded him about his latest release, Thamma. His performance of a father who is suspicious that his son has developed “punching machine-type teeth” has been well received. Paresh Rawal smiled and said, “Yes, I heard it is doing well.” He also revealed that “I am in Ahmedabad,” indicating perhaps that he hasn't seen the film yet.

About Drishyam Drishyam is the story of a man trying to protect his family after his wife and elder daughter accidentally kill a young chap who was trying to molest them. Veteran actor and filmmaker Govardhan Asrani, fondly known as Asrani, passed away in Mumbai on October 20 after a prolonged illness. He was 84. Remembered for his impeccable comic timing and a career spanning over five decades, Asrani’s passing has left the Indian film fraternity mourning the loss of a true legend.

Among the many who paid their respects was actor Boman Irani, who took to social media to share a heartfelt note about his recent experience of working with the late actor. Reflecting on their time together, Irani revealed that they had collaborated just ten days before Asrani’s passing.

In his post, Irani wrote, “Around ten days ago, I had the privilege of working with Asrani ji for the first time. For the shot, I was meant to be injured and on the floor. He, the doctor, had to rush in and help me. While he needed a little help in the dark walking around the crowded set, the magical word ‘action’ had another meaning for him.”

The actor went on to describe how Asrani, despite his frail health, transformed into a burst of energy once the cameras started rolling. “Like a live wire, he rushed into the room and instinctively landed on the floor on hands and knees, attending with urgency to the sprawled me. On ‘cut,’ he needed a little help off the floor. But his commitment to the whirring camera will remain with me forever.”

Irani concluded his note with a poignant remark about Asrani’s lifelong dedication to his craft: “Till the very end, there was nothing else in the world that he was meant to do. He will be in his onward place doing nothing else but responding to ‘Action’ and doing what made him and others happy.”

Bollywood is abuzz with news that Lakshya, Tiger Shroff, and Janhvi Kapoor are set to collaborate on a high-octane action drama, reportedly produced by Karan Johar. While no official announcement has been made yet, a report by Mid-Day suggests that the Dharma Productions head has been quietly developing a large-scale action entertainer.

The report also said that the film will be directed by Raj Mehta. “But this time, a revenge story is at the centre of this action offering. The film is in its final stage of prep and Raj plans to take it on floors by November,” a source told the publication. The tabloid added, “It will be Tiger versus Lakshya. Both actors have shown their prowess in the action genre, and the film will benefit with them sharing screen space. Apart from Tiger and Lakshya, the action (film) reportedly stars Janhvi Kapoor.”

The source further noted, “Karan has set his eyes on another story now, something that is more in his zone of drama and emotions. He is confident that Raj will blend masala with big-screen action well.”

Thamma Movie Review Synopsis: THAMMA is a bloody love story. Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana), a TV reporter living with his parents (Paresh Rawal and Geeta Agarwal), goes trekking in the hills with friends. An unexpected bear attack leads him to Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a mysterious woman who saves and heals him. Attraction blossoms, but Alok is soon captured by a strange tribe led by Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Tadaka defies her clan to save him, sparking a chain of events that threaten her world and his. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Thamma Movie Story Review: Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara's story is drawn from Indian folklore and is refreshing. Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara's screenplay flows smoothly, maintaining tension and curiosity throughout. But the writing also suffers in some places. Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara's dialogues are witty, sharp and the ones mouthed by Nawazuddin are too funny.

Aditya Sarpotdar's direction once again hits the bullseye after MUNJYA (2024). His command over genre-mixing, blending supernatural tension with genuine emotion and humour, is commendable. Moreover, he keeps the narrative very simple and ensures that it has mainstream appeal. A few scenes stand out like Tadaka’s entry, Tadaka having dinner with Alok’s parents, Tadaka saving Alok from the goons etc. The intermission point is dramatic while the climax is gripping. A fight that takes place in the pre-climax is visually stunning.

Oh the flipside, the character intro is too quick. The makers don’t invest time in Alok’s work life. In fact, there was no requirement to show Alok is a reporter; it served no purpose. Moreover, Alok was supposed to be a loser but this aspect doesn’t come across well. Sure, he’s goofy but he also seemed dashing. The pace dips in the second half. Lastly, though the climax fight has its moments, it is underwhelming when compared to the endings of the previous films of the universe.

Thamma Movie Review Performances: Ayushmann Khurrana is in exceptional form. His performance moves seamlessly from vulnerability to comic timing to intensity. He anchors the film brilliantly. Rashmika Mandanna proves her worth. She owns every frame with her charm, fierceness, and mystique. Paresh Rawal is dependable. His comic timing and fatherly warmth provide the perfect emotional balance. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s act reminds of his performances in films like KICK (2014) but it works well and raised laughs. Faisal Malik (P K Yadav; cop) is impressive while Geeta Agarwal Sharma lends able support. Varun Dhawan as Bhediya is too good.

Thamma movie music and other technical aspects: Sachin-Jigar's music is peppy but again, falls short when compared to the previous films of the universe. 'Tum Mere Na Huye' appears in the end credits is stunning. 'Rahein Na Rahein Hum' is haunting while 'Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka' and 'Poison Baby' are foot-tapping. Sachin-Jigar's background score is electrifying and enhances the tension and romantic intensity throughout.

Saurabh Goswami's cinematography is captivating. DNEG's VFX is top-notch, particularly in the creature sequences and mystical visuals. Grant Hulley and Parvez Shaikh's action is slick and energetic. Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray's production design and Sheetal Iqbal Sharma's costumes are appealing. Hemanti Sarkar's editing is slick but it also drags in the second half.

Thamma Movie Review Conclusion: On the whole, THAMMA is a well-packaged entertainer that reinforces why the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe continues to be a franchise worth tracking. At the box office, the winning combination of its genre appeal, brand value, and the extended Diwali weekend is bound to translate into strong collections.

Earlier in the morning, it was revealed that Sajid Nadiadwala is planning to make Tere Naam 2 with Salman Khan and is on the verge of procuring rights from the producers of the original film. However, very reliable sources have strongly denied the development to Bollywood Hungama and have confirmed that Sajid Nadiadwala is not associated with Tere Naam 2 in any manner. "Sajid believes in creating his own franchises and is not interested in acquiring films from any other producer. He is not making Tere Naam 2 with Salman Khan or any other actor at this point in time."

Tere Naam is a love film of Salman Khan from the early 2000s, and there has been talk about a sequel for the longest time. "But there can't be any sequel without a script. The whole idea of part two with Sajid Nadiadwala makes no sense. Sajid had vaguely told people that the launch film of his son with Shashank Khataan as director is as intense as Tere Naam. Someone twisted his words, and in the grapevine, people announced Tere Naam 2 with the producer."

Sajid also believes that Tere Naam is a timeless saga of love, and a classic like that should not be touched. "He will definitely make another film with his friend, Salman Khan, and there is no bad blood between the two. It could be Kick 2 or something else, but the collaboration has nothing to do with Tere Naam."

The Diwali biggie Thamma is all set to release tomorrow and the excitement is growing for it as the release date nears. Bollywood Hungama informed readers yesterday, that is, Sunday, October 20, that the teaser of Ikkis and the announcement promo of Shakti Shalini will be shown with the horror comedy. Bollywood Hungama has learned that there’s one more exciting asset attached to Thamma – Cocktail 2.

A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “A song promo of Cocktail 2, titled ‘Jab Talak’, was passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on October 16. Its run time is 111 seconds, that is, 1 minute and 51 seconds, and it has been passed with a U/A 16+ rating.”

The trade source further said, “The theatres have been informed of the promos to be shown with Thamma and one of them is that of Cocktail 2; the other two being Ikkis and Shakti Shalini. Cocktail 2’s release is many months away, but it’s a big, vibrant film, as evident from the on-set pictures from Sicily, Italy. Also, with audiences expected to arrive in hordes for Thamma in cinemas, it can be a great time to present its first look.”

Cocktail 2, like Thamma, is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. While the first part starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone and launched Diana Penty, the second part features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. Both parts have been directed by Homi Adajania. Interestingly, Rashmika also stars in Thamma. The other lead actors in the film are Ayushmann Khurrana, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal.

Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who directed the other significant film of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe – Munjya (2024). Shakti Shalini also belongs to the same universe and hence, it is apt to have its promo with Thamma.

After the debacle of War 2, director Ayan Mukerji has decided to take a backseat as the director of Dhoom 4. Sources close to the development confirm that Ayan has backed off from Dhoom 4 and, in a closed-door conversation with Aditya Chopra, conveyed his reservation. "Ayan believes that films like War 2 and Dhoom 4 were never meant for him, and he wants to do something a lot wider with scope for romance, drama with spectacle vibes and storytelling," an insider told Bollywood Hungama.

The insider informed Bollywood Hungama, "Ayan was just executing what was written on paper by Shridhar Raghavan, and had little say on the script and screenplay. He does not want to be on another journey of just execution, as he is a passionate filmmaker who prefers to exclusively work on the written material and bring more to the screen than what's written."

The source also confirms that the decision to step back from Dhoom 4 has been taken after a series of conversations with Aditya Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor. "Both Chopra and Kapoor understood Ayan's point of view and have parted ways on the right note. Ayan is now working on Brahmastra 2 and will take the film on floors in 2026. The writing work is concluded, and some polishing is going on during his stay in the Himalayas."

Aditya Chopra is meanwhile exploring more direction options. "Insiders at YRF have also suggested that the boss direct the new Dhoom film himself, as Ranbir has already allotted his dates for the new Dhoom film." Anyone trying to harm Salman Khan during the shooting of his underproduction film Battle Of Galwan will find it hard to penetrate the three-tier security arrangement.

The security bandobast is impregnable and unbreakable.

A source close to the project informed, “Salman travels nationally and internationally with his private security in-charge (Shera), and with a core security of 15 other trained commandos. Then there is the third tier of security provided by the government. When they were shooting in Leh, the government provided the security net given to the biggest VVIP politicians.”

Currently shooting for Battle Of Galwan in Mumbai, Salman is provided with an elaborate security arrangement not provided to any actor in India before.

Said the source, “The entire cast and crew of the Battle Of Galwan have to surrender their cell phones a mile away from the actual location. This includes Salman himself and the director Apoorva Lakhia, as any interceptor can track down Salman through any phone present on location. At the end of the day, every crew member’s phone is scrutinized for suspicious movement. Guests desirous of visiting Salman on the sets have to get their Aadhaar Cards scanned and approved in advance.”

Isn’t it cumbersome to shoot with so many hurdles?

“Not at all. Salman has learnt to live with the security. Fifteen of the security guards are on the actual set with him. But they are trained to make themselves invisible. Not once does Apoorva Lakhia have to yell at them for coming in the way of the camera,” said the source.

The third generation of the illustrious Khanna family is all set to enter the movie industry. Yesteryears’ superstar Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia’s granddaughter Naomika Saran will make her screen debut in film being produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films.

Naomika is the daughter of Rajesh and Dimple’s younger daughter Rinke Khanna who was once an aspiring actress in Filmistan. Rinke did films like Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Jis Desh Ganga Mein Rehta Hai. When she was removed by Ram Gopal Varma from his film Company and replaced by Manisha Koirala, Rinke quite the film industry, got married and migrated to the West.

Now, her daughter is all set to rekindle the Khanna magic on screen. Naomika’s co-star in her debut film is the talented Vedang Raina, Alia Bhatt’s co-star in Jigra, currently shooting for a film with Imtiaz Ali in Punjab.

Three days are left for the release of the grand Diwali biggie, Thamma, and the excitement is gradually building up. The makers, Maddock Films, completed the censor process on time and in this article, Bollywood Hungama will exclusively focus on the cuts suffered by the horror comedy.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) asked for audio cuts in three places and one visual modification as well. The word 'Alexander' was replaced with ‘Sikandar’. In another dialogue, the word ‘Ashwathama’ was muted.

In the second half of the film, the words 'Azaadi doonga' were replaced with 'Aiyaashi karata hoon'. The Examining Committee also asked the makers to ‘reduce the slurping sound of drinking blood to minimum’. Finally, a kissing scene in the second half was reduced by 30%, that is, by 5 seconds.

The last modification may dampen the excitement of the moviegoers but on the positive side, this is the shortest intimacy cut asked by the CBFC in recent times. In Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, liplock visuals were reduced by 60%. In Saiyaara, the makers were instructed to delete and replace 10 seconds of ‘sensual, intimacy, body exposure visuals’. Lastly, in Superman, the CBFC axed 33 seconds of ‘sensual visual’ from Superman. It led to massive criticism as the studio had to make abrupt cuts to accommodate CBFC’s directive.

Coming back to Thamma, once the changes were made, the censor certificate was handed over to the makers on October 15. The film was passed with a U/A 16+ rating. The length of the movie, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 149.59 minutes. In other words, Thamma is 2 hours 29 minutes and 59 seconds long.

Thamma releases on Tuesday, October 21 and stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. It is backed by blockbuster producer Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and directed by Aditya Sarpotdar of Munjya (2024) fame. It is a part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and hence, belongs to the same world as Stree, Bhediya and Munjya.

A controversy erupted ahead of the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election in Telangana after fake voter ID cards bearing the photos of actresses Tamannaah Bhatia, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Rakul Preet Singh were discovered at a single residential address. The authorities from the Election Commission have confirmed that they are investigating the matter to determine how these fraudulent entries were created.

Same Address, Multiple Fake IDs According to reports, all three fabricated voter ID cards listed the same address within the Jubilee Hills constituency, raising serious questions about the integrity of the electoral rolls. The Election Commission’s local office has taken note of the irregularities and stated that verification is underway to trace those responsible.

Political Stakes and Candidates The by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat is scheduled for November 11, with vote counting set for November 14. The seat fell vacant following the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath in June due to a heart attack. The ruling Congress party has fielded V. Naveen Yadav as its candidate, while Maganti Sunitha, the widow of the late MLA, represents the BRS (Bharath Rashtra Samithi). BJP has nominated Lankala Deepak Reddy to contest from the seat. BRS Alleges “Thousands of Fake Voters” The opposition BRS has accused the ruling Congress of orchestrating a large-scale voter registration fraud in the constituency. BRS Working President KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress manipulated electoral rolls by creating thousands of fake entries. “In one house, they got 43 fake votes were registered. In total, they registered thousands of fake votes. We are doing an exercise on that and will counter it in whatever way necessary,” KTR said. Legal Challenge and Court’s Observation Following these allegations, the BRS moved the Telangana High Court, seeking action against the alleged irregularities. However, during a recent hearing, the High Court observed that since the State Election Commission is already revising electoral rolls, no additional directions were necessary at this stage.

The incident involving fake voter ID cards featuring prominent film celebrities has added a dramatic twist to an already heated campaign in Jubilee Hills.
