Riding high on the success of Pathaan, filmmaker Siddharth Anand has now given two back-to-back blockbusters. After War and Pathaan, he has become the undisputed number-one director of his genre in India. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone & John Abraham, the film has already collected Rs. 591 crores gross worldwide! But, the film did face its fair share of controversies especially when boycott calls were made after ‘Besharam Rang’ was released. Several outfits had raised objections to Deepika Padukone wearing a saffron bikini. Speaking to Deadline, when asked if he was worried about the negativity around Pathaan ahead of its release, he said, “All I know is they tried to boycott Pathaan and audiences came out in large numbers and supported it. I think if you’re going to boycott something or raise your voice against it, there has to be some merit in that. It has to be substantiated with some facts and some reality. What they were trying to do with Pathaan was just ridiculous and the audience has given its verdict. There’s also been a huge amount of support for Shah Rukh who has been a soft target in recent years. That’s why the film has done such big numbers. There’s been such an outpouring of love – they came in wanting to like the film and not to judge it.” Talking about the recent surge of South movies doing really well in the North market and how Pathaan has broken several records, he added, “We’ve captured all four quadrants, families are going in large numbers, men, women, youth audience, across both multiplexes and single screens. It’s also firing in all territories. Earlier it was a little slow in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh because people were afraid of protests. That was on the first day. But by evening, the numbers started increasing. The South is also coming in with big numbers, not just the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions, but they’re also coming for the original Hindi version because they want to hear Shah Rukh speaking in his original voice.” On the work front, Siddharth Anand is next directing Fighter headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Prime Video on Wednesday confirmed that Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be starring alongside Varun Dhawan in the Indian installment of the Citadel universe, the global-event series from Prime Video and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. The untitled Citadel series based out of India is being helmed by renowned creator duo Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK), who are the showrunners and directors. The local installment is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. The streaming service also confirmed that the production is currently underway in Mumbai. After this, the unit will head to North India and then onwards to international locales like Serbia and South Africa. As previously announced, Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will star in the first-to-launch series within the Citadel universe, which comes from the Russo Brothers’ AGBO along with David Weil and is set to premiere in 2023. Alongside Madden and Chopra Jonas, the first-to-launch Citadel series will also feature Stanley Tucci. Additional local-language Citadel productions are also in the works, including an Italian Original series starring Matilda De Angelis. “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Samantha once again. She made her streaming debut with The Family Man Season Two, on Prime Video, and is one of the most talented artistes in the industry today. Earlier today we had reported that the Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal that was slated to release on April 7 has been pushed further due to VFX and technical issues. However, now it seems that another film has taken over the same release date. Featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur for the first time together, Gumraah will be taking over the same release date. Gumraah is expected to be a crime thriller that will showcase a massive face-off between Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur. While the lead cast will come together for the first time, another interesting thing to watch in the film will be the dual role of the actor. Aditya has never played a double-role before and he will be seen in two distinct characters in the film whereas Mrunal will essay the character of a cop. Earlier, Aditya Roy Kapur had spoken about the film saying, “I am inspired and excited to be part of telling such an interesting story. The original film was incredibly riveting and entertaining, and it left a lasting impression on me. Debutant Karan Mehta plays a Muslim boy in an intense relationship with Alaya F who plays a Hindu girl. Kashyap has spared the audience none of the ugliness that such a relationship generates among social-media bouncers, the self-styled guardian of morality. In the hard-hitting powerful and pertinent film a bigot is heard commenting snidely, “These people first talk about Mohabbat. Then they talk about Mohammed.” Happily and surprisingly, the Central Board Of Film Certification gave the film a ‘UA’ certificate with no cuts: a rare non-‘A’ film of Kashyap. Varun Dhawan fans have been eagerly waiting to see the actor on the big screen and Bawaal added to anticipation as it was bringing together VD and Janhvi Kapoor for the first time on the big screen. However, it seems that they have to wait a little more since the latest update on that front is that the film is witnessing a few delays due to technical issues. Sources close to the film claimed that the Sajid Nadiadwala production may be pushed further because Nitesh Tiwari and the team of the film are keen on using a special kind of technology for the film. Sources claim that the filmmakers are quite ambitious about the onscreen presentation of Bawaal and hence are even shooting it using a special technology in Poland. Confirming the same, the director Nitesh Tiwari explained that in order to maintain the quality of the film, they decided to postpone its release, instead of compromising on the effects. He said, “The visual finesse we want to achieve on these sequences will need more time than we expected. We don’t want to cut short at anything because our purpose is to bring nothing but the best version of our vision to our viewers.” Readers would be aware that Bawaal was extensively shot in Poland wherein Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor were constantly seen sharing photos and videos on social media, giving a glimpse of the picturesque locations they shot the film in. Streaming giant Netflix is all set to celebrate the late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra and his banner Yash Raj Films through the docu-series titled The Romantics. Directed by Smriti Mundhra, the show will be released on the Valentine’s Day on February 14 and it will be Netflix’s tribute to Chopra, who was known as ‘Father of Romance.’ Throwing more light on The Romantics, an official statement from the makers said, “The star-studded, four-part docu-series will feature 35 leading voices of the Hindi film industry and dive into the history of Bollywood through the lens of YRF’s impact in making Bollywood a household name globally. The global streaming giant will release the trailer of the docu-series in 190 countries tomorrow. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen in a lead role with Pathaan on January 25, 2023 and has obliterated box office records. Shehzada is among the most anticipated Bollywood films of the year and why not – it marks the return of Kartik Aaryan to the big screen after the blockbuster success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Filmmaker Suresh Triveni’s last movie Jalsa, which released last March on Amazon Prime Video, received appreciation for its content as well as the performances from Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah and veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi. Following the film, Triveni announced his own creative studio and production house named Opening Image, in partnership with Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment. Triveni is now ready to roll his next two directorial ventures under his banner. Veteran actor Annu Kapoor was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on January 26 after he complained chest pain. The artist was kept under treatment for four days. Thankfully, for his fans and well-wishers, his condition improved over the days and he was discharged from the hospital last night, as reported by Indian Express through the Press Trust of India. As per the agency, the news was shared by Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Board of Management, Sri Ganga Ram Hospital. As per the publication, Kapoor was treated by a team of cardiologists comprising, Dr J P S Sawhney, Dr Rajneesh Jain, Dr Rajiv Passey, Dr BS Vivek and Dr Sushant Wattal. The publication also quoted Dr Rajneesh, co-director of cath lab and head of unit, saying, “Kapoor was discharged today in a stable condition.” Kapoor has been one of the most accomplished actors from Bollywood over the decades. After making his debut in the parallel cinema of the early 1980s, he has gone onto act in over 100 movies, along with television serials. Since recent years, he has also ventured into the latest fad of web shows. His last released work in the web space was the Amazon Prime Video show Crash Course. Kapoor is also currently hosting the musical show Golden Era with Annu Kapoor since several years. A source had revealed that Anurag had been thinking about developing a sequel to the anthology for some time, but he didn't have the concept until the first lockdown of the epidemic. At the same time as he began drafting the script, he began casting. The four distinct sections of the film will finally be connected by it. Anurag does an amazing job of fusing four separate stories together in Ludo and presenting them all at once. After much speculation surrounding the role on whom the film’s title is based, Anurag Kashyap reveals Vicky Kaushal as DJ Mohabbat in his directorial Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, co-starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. This also marks the fourth collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and the actor, who plays a special role and will feature in a never-seen-before avatar in the coming-of-age romantic film. Talking about the special role of Vicky Kaushal in the film, Anurag Kashyap said, “The character of DJ Mohabbat is so integral to the story, that I wanted someone special to play it. DJ Mohabbat is the voice of love, and is the conduit between two stories and I wanted someone who is that. Someone everyone loves because they trust and believe him. Vicky is that to me since I’ve known him. Always speaks his heart, never forgets, is grateful to his audience and people and the characters he plays. When I asked ‘if not SRK then who?’. Anurag Kashyap recently made headlines where he expressed guilt over his public statement about his Dev.D actor Abhay Deol and privately about the late Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Anurag accused Abhay of being difficult to work with, claiming that the actor insisted on staying in a five-star hotel separate from the rest of the cast and crew. Abhay had denied this.  Anurag had revealed shortly after Sushant's death that he had refused to speak with him about a project because he was resentful of being ghosted by the actor in the past. The filmmaker discussed his differences with Abhay and Sushant in a new interview with Showsha. He said, “It’s taken me a year-and-a-half of sickness to realise a lot of things. I was so reactive; I would say things. I would say things out of anger, out of reaction, to things I felt perturbed by. It took me time to realise that I’m shouting, I’m shouting in a room full of people shouting. Nobody’s listening to each other, not just to me. That’s what social media has become. And I stepped back. I said, ‘Why am I reacting to this? What is bothering me?'”  He further added, “A lot has changed, but I know I have no filter. But it’s also made me realise I don’t need to say everything… For example, that whole spat between me and Abhay. Somebody was doing an article about why a very good actor like Abhay is no longer in the movies, and I spoke about my experiences, something that happened 13 years ago. I didn’t need to say it publicly. And the day the unfortunate incident happened of SSR, I felt so bad. Three weeks prior to that somebody was trying to reach out because he wanted to talk, and I was like, ‘No, he ghosted me, I don’t want to talk’. You get pangs of guilt. So, I tried to reach out to Abhay and I apologised to him, because somebody had told me that he was upset about me speaking publicly about him.”  Anurag stated that he told Abhay that it was fine to yell at him and then apologised repeatedly for what he said. However, Abhay appeared to be upset about what Anurag had said about him as recently as last month. Abhay called the filmmaker a "liar" and a "toxic" person in an interview with mid-day. Anurag acknowledged that they had both changed and expressed regret for what he had said.  Anurag had stated in a 2020 interview with NDTV that he was disappointed that Sushant had backed out of projects with him in favour of more high-profile jobs. He stated, “YRF called him and said, ‘We’ll give you a deal. You do Shuddh Desi Romance.’ Sushant, who used to sit in my office with Mukesh and all of us used to sit together, signed up with YRF and dropped Hasee Toh Phasee, a film of an outsider because usko validation YRF ka chahiye tha (he wanted validation from YRF). It’s with every actor, so I am not holding any grudges… Years later, in 2016, before the release of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Mukesh went to Sushant and said, ‘Anurag has written a script looking for an actor who can play someone based out of Uttar Pradesh.’ Dhoni released, became a success and he never called me back. After a protracted struggle with a brain tumour and cancer, Rakhi Sawant's mother Jaya Sawant passed away on Saturday. Rakhi’s mother had reportedly been in critical condition while being treated in a Mumbai hospital for several days. The actress posted the heart-breaking news along with a moving letter for her mother on social media.   Rakhi had posted updates on her mother's health as well as images and videos of her mother taken when she was in the hospital. In numerous paparazzi recordings, the actor had also pleaded with viewers to pray for her mother's quick recovery. Rakhi’s mother had receiving medical care in a hospital in Mumbai. She shared a post on Instagram on Saturday confirming that her mother Jaya Sawant had passed away following treatment for a brain tumour and cancer. According to a statement Rakhi posted on her Instagram story, the funeral will be held on Sunday.  Rakhi posted a touching video on Instagram with her mother. The actress was seen sobbing hysterically sitting on the floor while Rakhi's mother was shown fighting for her life in the video. OM SHANTI,” actor Sharad Malhotra commented, “Really sorry to hear about this…Rakhi pls take care of urself ….Om Shanti.” Several fans also shared their condolences with Rakhi in the comments section and asked her to stay strong.  Rakhi uploaded an image of a photo she had with her deceased mother on Instagram Stories along with a message on WhatsApp that read, "With deep sorrow, I Rakhi Sawant inform you (of) the sudden death of my beloved mother. Many of you know that she was suffering from some medical conditions, well I am sad to say that she is gone. Tomorrow join us for the funeral service of my mother at 12 noon. Address: Municipal Christian Cemetery, Oshiwara, Andheri, West." Rakhi Sawant’s mother was hospitalised after being diagnosed with cancer and a brain tumour. She had uploaded a video requesting prayers for her mother. She said, "Hi everyone...My mom is not well, she is in hospital. Please pray for her, she is not feeling her best. Siddharth Anand has become the hottest director in town. The fact that his latest directorial Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham is setting new benchmark records at the box office, film producers are making a bee line to sign him. If going by certain reports, then apparently Mulk producer Deepak Mukut has roped in Anand to occupy the directorial chair of his next production venture. While the grapevine is buzzing with such claims, a well-placed industry source has exclusively informed Bollywood Hungama that it is untrue. Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama the source who is also close to the filmmaker, denies the claims saying, “Siddharth Anand’s next is Fighter, a film that he is also producing under his banner Marflix. He is one of the biggest directors of the country and the biggest in terms of opening numbers. He will announce his next line up of films in due course of time but he is definitely not collaborating with Mulk producer Deepak Mukut.” While it is understandable for such rumours to find a base, especially since Siddharth Anand with two back to back hits, viz. War and now Pathaan, has become one of the most talked about and south after individuals, maintaining a modicum of truth is highly necessary. Sidharth Malhotra returns to his patriotic avatar with Mission Majnu but this time he was seen essaying the role of a 70s spy in Pakistan, working for India. Co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film premiered on Netflix a few days ago but it seems that the film has been facing a little backlash from Pakistanis for their misrepresentation. Joining the debate now is Pakistani star Adnan Siddiqui, who is known for his performance in Sridevi’s last film, Mom, in which he essayed the role of her husband. He took to social media to review the Shantanu Bagchi film and expressed his disappointment over the same. Adnan Siddiqui took to Instagram to share a long note about Mission Majnu and how it misrepresented Pakistanis and portrayed a very wrong image of the residents in the country. He also called out the stereotype perception of their habits. He started off the note by saying, “How much misrepresentation is too much misrepresentation? Bollywood has the answer. I mean come on, yaar with all the money you have, hire some good researchers to do homework on us. Or allow me to help. Make sure to take notes—no, we don’t wear skull caps, surma, tawiz; no, we don’t ask janab about their mijaz; no, we don’t go around throwing adaab.” He continued, “There’s so much in #MissionMajnu that’s distasteful & factually incorrect. The hero’s saviour complex would’ve accentuated more if the villain was shown at par. Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate owing to her alleged involvement in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, has been granted the permission to travel abroad for professional commitments, albeit with certain conditions. The actress had earlier approached the Delhi Patiala High Court seeking the permit for travelling abroad to attend her scheduled performance for PepsiCo India conference where she was to perform at the Annual Bottlers Conference in Dubai. On Friday, the Delhi Patiala High Court granted permission to Jacqueline Fernandez to travel to Dubai after her counsel argued that the actress may face lawsuit from the brand for non-participation if she doesn’t make it to the conference. Considering the same, the court has granted her permission to travel but along with that it has also observed that it will come along with some conditions. Owing to the fact that the ED is still investigating the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case, for which, she has been named as a witnessed, the court has laid certain guidelines for the actress including a FDR of Rs. 1 crore, in case she doesn’t return. As per the court order, the actress is also expected to give a full disclosure of her stay details in Dubai including itinerary, arrival, and departure. In the past too, Jacqueline Fernandez had filed a plea seeking permission to travel but had withdrawn the same. While the counsel argued that the actress decided to cooperate in the investigation and decided against traveling for personal reasons, the current reason for her to insist on leaving for Dubai is because of the professional repercussions she may face if she doesn’t attend the event. On the other hand, the ED opposed it not only stating that the case is still under investigation but also pointing out that Jacqueline is a foreign national which increases the threat of her fleeing. After listening to both arguments, the court upheld its decision of allowing Fernandez to travel for the conference but keeping in mind the ongoing investigation of the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs. 200 crore extortion case, the court has asked the actress to strictly adhere to the guidelines that have been laid down. For the unversed, Jacqueline Fernandez is being investigated for her alleged relationship with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. While the actress claims to be a victim of the conman, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating and has filed multiple chargesheets regarding the same. The film, which is directed by Siddharth Anand, is breaking new box office records both in Inadia and abroad. Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films has announced its partnership with celebrated author Harinder Sikka. The company has acquired the rights to adapt Sikka's bestselling novel "Vichhoda: In the Shadow of Longing". With the release of Pathaan in cinemas worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan is soaring at the box office and has given a much-needed boost to even single screens. The film has collected Rs. 57 crores in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in India on the opening day. As the response continues to remain positive around the film, the actor is set to return to work after taking a one-month break for Pathaan. He will resume the shoot for Atlee Kumar’s Jawan on February 1, 2023. According to a report in Peeping Moon, Shah Rukh Khan returns to the sets of Jawan next week for a six-day schedule. The actor is expected to shoot major action sequences. Even Sanya Malhotra will be joining him for a short stint. The new schedule kicks off on January 31 and the team is currently prepping for the same. While SRK joins on February 1, Vijay Sethupathi and Priyamani will resume shooting later in February 2023 While Atlee Kumar and his team are working on post-production simultaneously, some bits of the Jawan shoot is left which will be wrapped by March 2023. The plan is to shoot in various cities. The commercial action entertainer also stars Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover. Red Chillies Entertainment presents Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead and produced by Gauri Khan. Last to last night was tough for the family of popular TV actor Shaheer Sheikh. For the unversed, on January 25, 2023, a massive fire broke out in the actor's building. Shaheer Sheikh's wife Ruchika Kapoor took to her verified social media handle and shared the details of the horrific incident. On a long note, Kapoor stated that she was at home with her 16-month-old daughter and parents and at around 1.30 am, she got a call that their building was on fire. However, after a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated safely. Ruchikaa Kapoor thanked the firefighters and explained the incident in detail. She said that her father is wheelchair-bound while her daughter Anaya is just 16 months old. Given this, it was very difficult to get down the stairs from her 15th-floor apartment. Ruchikaa further added that Shaheer Sheikh and his brother-in-law along with firefighters came to rescue her. After a lot of effort, the whole family was evacuated till 5 in the morning. Filmmaker John Mathew Matthan had a dream directorial debut with the Aamir Khan and Naseeruddin Shah-starrer Sarfarosh. The film, which won critical and box office accolades, is still remembered. However, his next film Shikhar (2005), which starred Ajay Devgn and Shahid Kapoor, didn’t do well. His following project A New Love Ishtory couldn’t get completed. Now, Matthan has bagged a web-series titled One Nation. The Sarfarosh filmmaker will be directing one episode along with the likes of Priyadarshan, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, Maju Bohara and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan for the show. All six filmmakers are National Award winners. The show is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Hitesh Thakkar. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan has embarked upon an earth-shattering opening. The word of mouth has been quite positive as the moviegoers have been impressed by the film’s tight narrative, scale, action, emotions, and of course the performances of SRK, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham. The cameo by Salman Khan, which was an open secret, has also been loved unanimously and has contributed to the craze around the film. The advance booking of Pathaan began on January 18 on a rocking note. With each passing day, ticket sales increased. A trade source said, “We all knew that there’s tremendous demand for the film. But post-pandemic, this is a first for the Mumbai circuit for a Hindi film. Panwar further added, “I will play a negative role in Kumkum Bhagya too. I am an obsessive lover, who falls in love with the main lead (Krishna Kaul) and creates trouble in his life.”

Elaborating about her character, Alisha said, “It is true that before the leap it was Tina who played a character madly in love with the main lead and now it will be my character after the leap. But my character is 10 times more vicious than Tina's and I am just glad that I am getting to work in a popular show like Kumkum Bhagya. The production house had earlier approached me for Nagin, but I could not do the show due to date issues.”

She concluded by saying, “Earlier people used to slot if you did similar roles, but not anymore. I also acted in Meri Gudiya, where I played a positive role. In Ishq Main Marjawan, I played both positive and negative, so I don't think I will get slotted. It is fun to play diverse roles and I am enjoying this phase in showbiz.”

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has successfully bagged yet another award at Saudi Arabia. He expressed his gratitude and gave a heartfelt acceptance speech while receiving the award. The actor shared the same on social media.

Amitabh Bachchan bagged Lifetime Achievement Award at 2023 Joy Awards for his contribution to the Indian movies. Legendary actor Bachchan took to his Instagram and shared the video. The post incorporated several clips from the actor’s film, following which he can be seen giving a speech. “My immense gratitude for your affection and care .. and for the honour ..”, the actor captioned while sharing the video.

In his speech he mentioned that it was his first visit to Saudi, but won’t be his last. The actor said, “I’ve always believed that cinema is a medium of entertainment, and it is a medium that brings people together and integrates human society. We come from different walks of life and come from different paths of the world, but when we watch something, we laugh at the same jokes and cry at the same things. We come together at one platform.”

“My father, a great poet - during the last days of his life, he used to watch a Hindi film every evening, sometimes repeating the same film every time. I asked him what is it that you find interesting in cinema. He said that I get poetic justice in three hours. You and I won’t get poetic justice in a lifetime or several lifetimes. That’s the power of cinema. I’m proud to be a very small part of the film industry of my country. When you honour me today, you honour the film industry of my country, you honour my country,” he further added.

Amitabh was accompanied by his family members including Shweta Bachchan Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan in Saudi Arabia.

If you watch Pathaan and don't find Salman Khan in the first half of the film, then we advice you to not be disappointed. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively discovered that Salman Khan aka. Tiger makes a smashing entry in the second half of the film to rescue Pathaan aka. Shah Rukh Khan from a goon of Russian mafia.

According to a source close to the development, Salman Khan has an extraordinary screen presence as Tiger in his 15-minute-long action packed extended appearance in Siddharth Anand's Pathaan. "From helicopter, to guns and hand to hand combats - you will see Salman Khan acing the space that he excels in to rescue his friend Shah Rukh Khan from tough times of being trapped by Russian Mafia," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The two superstars have a dynamic presence in the film leaving the fans asking for more and more of the two. "And that combo will be back soon in a full-fledged film, as a crossover of Tiger and Pathaan is in the making. The idea of Aditya Chopra is to celebrate two of Hindi Cinema's biggest megastars - Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan," the source told us further.

Pathaan is an extension of YRF spy universe that kicked off with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai and War. While it all started with the Salman Khan film, the superstar is now being joined by Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Shah Rukh Khan in this action packed universe, which is undoubtedly the biggest universe of Hindi cinema. Meanwhile, Pathaan has taken an earth-shattering opening at the box office.

Life has come to a full circle for Vikrant Massey. The actor encountered a shoulder injury during the shoot of his film Haseen Dillruba four years ago. However, he couldn’t get it treated because of his busy schedule. And now, after wrapping up the first schedule of Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, the sequel to the film, Vikrant will finally be underdoing a surgery for his shoulder.

The makers of the show quoted a source saying, “The actor will now undergo the procedure and treatment for the shoulder injury once the first schedule of Haseen Dillruba 2 wraps up, since it requires immediate attention. Over time, the pain got worse but Vikrant powered through it considering his back to back shoot schedule. He will now be taking some time out to tend to the injury after the schedule wrap of Haseen Dillruba sequel.”

The first film in the franchise, which released in 2021, starred Taapsee Pannu in the titular role along with Harshvardhan Rane. It is unlikely for the sequel to star Rane since his character dies in the first film. There have been reports about Sunny Kaushal being a part of the second film.

While sharing the news of the sequel, Vikrant had given few insights on Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba earlier this month saying, “A lot of it is going to be really different. Except for me and Taapsee, there are so many new things. It’s another crazy experience. We had not kept expectations earlier too that it will be so loved, the story, the world around the story. The amount of love we got for the film we thought.”

Apart from Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba, Vikrant also has the psychological thriller Gaslight with Sara Ali Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail, Sector 36 with Maddock Films.

Directed by Vinit Mathew, Haseen Dillruba and Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba are written by Kanika Dhillon.

It seems that the films releasing this week are facing trouble from different groups owing to the subjects. While Pathaan has been facing protests from different groups because of the saffron colour bikini of Deepika Padukone, the other film that is releasing alongside, Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is also facing its own share of trouble. This film has come under the radar after some groups took offense, claiming that it glorifies Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin. And now with the filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi receiving threats over the same, he has sought the help of Mumbai for increasing security.

As per PTI reports, Rajkumar Santoshi has written a letter to the Special Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti, in which he has requested his help after a group of people interrupted and caused a scene at the recently held promotional event of Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh . “Later several threats were received from some unknown people asking me to stop the release and promotion for this movie. I feel unsafe and I submit that grave damage and injury could be caused to me and my family members if such persons are set free,” said the excerpts of the letter.

Furthermore, he stressed on the need of protection adding, “I request you to urgently provide me with additional security to protect myself and other members of my family.”

Rajkumar Santoshi who has directed some hard hitting films like Damini and Ghayal, will be returning to the big screen wherein he wanted to portray the clashing ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Naturam Godse, and what prompted the latter to kill the man, who is known as the ‘Father of the Nation’.

Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is a historical drama Deepak Antani and Chinmany Mandlekar and is slated to release on January 26.

Ever since the trailer of director Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada dropped on the internet and social media, Kartik Aaryan’s fans have gone into a frenzy. Although the actor is known for giving a series of commercial hits, this is the first time that he is starring in an out-and-out masala entertainer and this seems to have worked out well with the trailer going viral in no time.

Now, the Shehzada trailer has crossed a major milestone as it has gone past 100 million views across platform on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram in just 11 days.

Shehzada is the official Hindi remake of the Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Released in 2020, the movie starred Allu Arjun in the lead role along with Pooja Hegde, Nivetha Pethuraj and Sushanth Anumolu. The remake has been produced by Bhushan Kumar under his banner T-Series.

Recently, Kartik was seen in Rajat Sharma’s television chat show Aap Ki Adalat. Among various things, he also spoke about him emerging as a major star of Bollywood lately. “I have always seen myself as no. 1,” he said on the show. “Slowly people are also getting to know that and are seeing me like that. But the audience’s love is what matters the most to me. I am desperate for their love and only for that am I obsessed with myself and want to give hit films... there’s only one Shehzada (prince) in the film industry.”

Shehzada is all set to release on February 10.
