Earlier this week, Bollywood Hungama reported that superstar Aamir Khan has locked his next project! The actor will return to the big screen during Christmas 2024. The untitled project is set for December 20, 2024 release and he is reportedly co-producing the project with Sony Pictures. However, after Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir has been working on several productions under his banner and one of them is Ujjwal Nikam biopic.

The actor is joining hands with Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films for the project. Now, it is being reported that the actor is in talks to get National Award-Winning Marathi film, Killa and Paatal Lok director Avinash Arun for the project as the director. As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source said, “Avinash is working closely with Aamir and Dinesh Vijan to develop the screenplay of the Ujjwal Nikam Biopic. All the stakeholders are happy with the right energies associated with the project and are keen to take the film on floors next year.”

The casting is underway, though Aamir Khan also is keenly interested in playing the role himself. The source added, “It’s still not confirmed if Aamir will act in the film himself or if he will get another person on board. There are all sorts of conversations happening, and the team is also figuring out the permutation combinations with regard to the casting. He might just surprise everyone by acting in the film, or may just be associated as a producer.”

For unversed, Ujjwal Nikam is an Indian special public prosecutor who has been a part of several cases including murder and terrorism. He was a part of the team who helped prosecute the suspects of Gulshan Kumar murder case, 1993 bombings, Pramod Mahajan murder case, and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Nikam was also the special public prosecutor in the 2013 Mumbai gang rape case, 2016 Kopardi rape and murder case. For the Mumbai 26/11 attacks trial, the prosecutor argued on behalf of the state. The prosecutor has Z+ security for himself which is the second highest security detail in India.

As of now, Aamir Khan will produce a Hindi remake of the Spanish movie Campeones. He is reportedly also producing Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey Remake, Pritam Pyaare, Lapata Ladies and Love Today. While Campeons titled Champions, will be headlined by Farhan Akhtar, it is unclear whether Aamir is starring in any of the above projects. After Sumbul Touqeer, the Star Plus show Imlie was riding on the shoulders of Megha Chakraborty. And now, the show is all set to pass to another generation with Adrija Roy coming on board for the lead role as Kairi along with Sai Ketan Rao as the leading man Agastya. Ardent followers of the show will recall that the precap of the popular serial showcases how Imlie and Atharva are rejoicing the arrival of their second child, their ‘ati ati small’ and gushing about their dream of a happy family but it is short lived as their lives seems to be in danger because of an earthquake.

While the past few episodes were already hinting at a leap, audiences were eager to witness the arrival of the new Imlie. Their wait has now ended, since the channel introduced Adrija Roy of Durga Aur Charu fame who will be essaying the role of the next Imlie. In a recent post shared by Adrija, she expressed her gratitude after bagging the lead role in the show and penned a heartfelt note saying, “It’s time for every girl to take their stand, fight for their dreams and show the so called society that we can. I am heartily welcoming you all to watch my upcoming show… All your love and support is much needed for #IMLIE ???? & and I know my family will never disappoint me.” She added, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity @gulenaghmakhan Ma’am… Aur haan, IMLIE aa rahi hai aapko gaana sunane iss 11 September se. On the other hand, Sai Ketan Rao posted a message, saying, “A new journey begins as Agasthya Upadhyay with Imlie season 3. A story where two opposite worlds collide, meet Agasthya a man with clear goals, bold and ambitious. Need all your blessings & support.”

Going by the promo, it seems that while Kairi, now the new Imlie, has lost everything including her family, she is forced to take up a job of singing at a desi bar where she bumps into the business tycoon Agastya Upadhyay aka Sai Ketan Rao. Agastya’s car seems to have broken down in the middle of the road and he arrives at the bar to pass his time until it is repaired. It is where he comes across the singer and tries to offer her a whopping amount to work for him. But Imlie’s daughter staunchly refuses his offer and tells him curtly that even though she is poor, she will not sell her values or ethics for money. This leaves him surprised, and when he asks her name, she responds saying, ‘She is Imlie’.

Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders is set to screen at BFI London Film Festival in October 2023. The film, helmed by Hansal Mehta, will screen on October 14 and 15 at the festival.

The official synopsis reads, "Fresh wounds are reopened when Jasmeet Bhamra, a cop and single mother who recently lost her child in a shooting spree, transfers to High Wycombe and is assigned the case of a missing child. Director Hansal Mehta explores themes of trauma, closure and the immigrant experience with his signature sensitivity in this atmospheric thriller, featuring a career-best performance by Kapoor."

The YRF Spy Universe is the most celebrated universe of Indian Cinema. In November 2023, Aditya Chopra is all set to start shooting for the Ayan Mukerji-directed War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, and NTR Jr. in the lead. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that Aditya Chopra and Hrithik Roshan are keen to bring the action-packed thriller during the Republic Day 2025 weekend.

A source informed Bollywood Hungama, "Republic Day weekend is proving to be a great money spinner for the Hindi Film Industry. Be it Agneepath or Pathaan, both Hrithik and YRF have tasted success on this date and are now considering a Republic Day 2025 release for War 2. In fact, Hrithik's next, Fighter, is also set to release on the same weekend in 2024."

The source further added that the entire schedule of War 2 has been planned keeping this release period in mind. "It's a tentative date and things have been worked around keeping this in mind. However, the exact date will be locked only once the film goes on floors in November. There is also a chance of the film being slightly delayed to mid-2025, but at the moment YRF is clear on targeting a Republic Day opening," the source told Bollywood Hungama further.

The release period of War 2 also matches the patriotic theme of the film, which is a face-off between Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. War 2 will be the next film of YRF Spy Universe after the Diwali 2023 release, Tiger 3. War 2 will be followed by Tiger vs Pathaan.

Rani Mukerji has revealed that YRF is currently ideating on the storyline of Mardaani 3! Rani is the only actress to have a blockbuster franchise to her credit in Mardaani. She plays a feisty and fearless cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy, in this franchise and she takes on criminals who prey on women.

Rani discloses, “Mardaani 3 is in the ideation stage. Once YRF has a great and concrete story idea, Mardaani 3 will get into the scripting stage. I’m excited to see how Mardaani 3 shapes up! I am crossing my fingers because I would love to play the part of Shivani.”

She adds, “When I did Mardaani 2, I was quite nervous because I had never done a sequel before. I was like how will it happen? Because I leave my characters behind each time a film gets over and I don’t know if I will be able to reprise that part again. With Mardaani 2, I was surprised that I enjoyed reprising the part. So now I have tasted blood. So now I want to reprise it again in 3.”

Rani says Mardaani 3’s script will need to be exceptional because the expectation from audiences is sky-high from this franchise and they would need to see a crackingly fresh story!

Rani says, “I will be very happy and excited if the Mardaani 3 script comes about really something that we would make a film. Because I as an actor always believe that we don’t want to do a film because it sounds good. We need to do a film when the script is good and when we want to make a film which is making a difference.”

She adds, “With Mardaani 3 we can’t make a film if the story does not have that substance. It has to be something that people relate to today, the girls find it empowering. Only then we can do Mardaani 3. We can’t do it just because it sounds exciting. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has taken strong objection to actor Meezaan Jafri allegedly wearing a “kirpan”, a symbol of Sikh faith, in a song titled ‘Saure Ghar’ in the upcoming movie Yaariyan 2. The SGPC has filed a police complaint and asked for an immediate ban on the film and its song on YouTube.

The SGPC said that the actor is clean-shaven and non-Sikh and that only an initiated Sikh has the right to wear a kirpan. The SGPC also said that the film's directors have not clarified the matter satisfactorily.

The film's directors have said that the actor is wearing a “khukri” (a curved knife) and not a “kirpan”. They have also said that their intention was not to offend any religious beliefs.

The SGPC has said that it is not satisfied with the directors' clarification and that it is initiating legal action in the matter. The Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh has also directed the SGPC to take strict legal action in the matter.

In a statement, SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami said, "The insult to Sikh 'Kakaars' and Sikh principles cannot be tolerated in any film. The producer, directors, and actor of the film did not do it right by presenting 'Sikh Kakaar Kirpan' against Sikh principles and 'maryada' (conduct), he said."

The SGPC has also asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Information Technology and Electronics, and Central Film Board of Certification to take action against the film.

Indian actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has been working on his new music. The singer recently revealed that he is simultaneously working on two albums – a collaboration album and another one which will likely be a Punjabi one. For the collaboration album, he has been teasing it on social media with several international talents. Amongst them is Latin sensation Camilo, with whom the song is already locked and ready to be dropped on August 31.

Teasing the collaboration on his Instagram account, Camilo wrote, “Palpita August 31st. Love and respect is our common language!” Recently, he also shared a glimpse of the song and was crooning the Punjabi lyrics.

It seems like the long feud between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan has come to an end which reportedly had started during Darr release. However, following the blockbuster success of Gadar 2, SRK made a call to Sunny to congratulate him on his win at the box office. SRK recently revealed that he had watched the movie and loved it.

Sunny told Times Now, “Shah Rukh Khan had seen the film. Before that, he had called me and wished me well. He was so happy, and he told me, ‘I'm so happy, you genuinely deserve it’ and I said thank you. Then I spoke to his wife (Gauri Khan) and his son (Aryan Khan). And he said tonight we are going to be watching this film. And after that, he had seen it, and I think that is when he tweeted.”

“It was so beautiful. Many times I've also called him up and we shared our thoughts on certain things,” he sai. He added, “About the past issues - whatever they were, I would say time heals everything and we move ahead. That's the way life should be.”

Previously, Deol was unhappy with the way SRK’s character in Darr was glorified. During an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Sunny said, “At the end of the day, people loved me in the film. They loved Shah Rukh Khan as well. My only issue with the film was that I did not know they would glorify the villain. I always work in films with an open heart and believe in the person. I believe working with trust. Unfortunately, we have many actors and stars who don’t function in this manner. Maybe that’s the way they want to get their stardom.”

Behind a secure fence, they cheered and waved as he rode the motorcycle, and Akshay responded with heartfelt waves and greetings. Meanwhile, Akshay was recently seen in OMG 2 alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film earned praise from critics and audience alike and performed well at the box office. Apart from Sky Force, Akshay has Tinu Suresh Desai’s directorial, The Great Indian Rescue starring alongside Parineeti Chopra. The film is slated to release on October 5, 2023. He also has Jolly LLB 3, Welcome 3, Housefull 5 and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan in his pipeline.

Around 9 days are left for the release of Jawan and the excitement is growing with each passing day. Shah Rukh Khan fans are excited as the film’s promotion will reach its peak this week. Yesterday, the superstar revealed that the song 'Not Ramaiya Vastvaiya' will be unveiled today, that is, Tuesday, August 29. Its teaser has been loved and hence, its song release is keenly awaited.

This will be followed by a grand pre-release event of Jawan. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The event will take place in Chennai, at Sri Sairam Engineering College in the evening. It will probably be held in its sprawling indoor stadium, the details of which are kept under wraps. Also, it’s unclear whether or not it’s a music launch event. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the event will be graced by Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi and director Atlee. Music director Anirudh is also expected to grace the occasion. More than a thousand students and fans will be in attendance.”

The source continued, “Recently, the pre-release event of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Maaveeran (2023) was also held at Sri Sairam Engineering College. The events of South films usually take place in this fashion but for a Hindi film, this is a first, that too in Chennai. The Tamil industry and fans are excited as Shah Rukh Khan has a huge fan base down South. Hence, to see him and his film being promoted in their style has given them a kick.”

After the Chennai event, the much-awaited trailer of Jawan is expected to drop on Thursday, August 30. Shah Rukh Khan yesterday announced that he’ll be heading to Dubai, UAE where he’ll attend the film’s trailer launch on Thursday at the iconic structure, Burj Khalifa. The star asked fans to be a part of it and to wear red clothes for the launch.

Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, Jawan also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover and Ridhi Dogra along with Deepika Padukone in a cameo. Jawan releases in cinemas worldwide on September 7, 2023.

Filmmaker Abir Sengupta is set to bring an explosive saga of a modern-day existential crisis with his next feature titled Risky Romeo. The film, billed as an edgy and stylish neo-noir comic tragedy, stars Sunny Singh and Kriti Kharbanda in never-seen-before avatars. A passion project for the director, Abir is also producing Risky Romeo with Anushree Mehta under their banner Jaadugar Films in association with Priyanka Mehrotra and Rameshchandra Yadav of PR Motion Pictures.

The makers announced their film with a stunning and striking motion poster. "Thrilled to announce the film, writer-director Abir Sengupta— who had previously directed Kiara Advani starrer Indoo Ki Jawani and produced Radhika Apte starrer Mrs. Undercover," said Risky Romeo is a neo-noir comic tragedy that depicts human behaviour in a "very unusual manner."

"The script is filled with dark humour, outlandish characters and a surreal treatment. When I narrated the script to Sunny, he instantly picked up the essence of the film. My business partner and producer of the film Anushree Mehta then introduced me to Kriti. She too instantly connected with the script and I landed both my lead cast. After toiling with multiple stories and ideas for almost 3 years, Risky Romeo was something that had my heart and soul and I knew that I had to make this film," Abir said.

Producer Anushree Mehta of Jaadugar Films jointly with Priyanka Mehrotra and Rameshchandra Yadav of PR Motion Pictures said, Risky Romeo will offer a genre 'rarely seen in Hindi cinema.' "Both our lead actors Sunny and Kriti will be seen in never-seen-before avatars and we cannot wait for the world to witness the same. This is a passion project in its true sense, not only for the writer-director but for everyone who is a part of Risky Romeo.”

Excited to don the role of Risky Romeo, Sunny Singh shared, “I have never ever played a character even close to this before. It is thrilling and challenging at the same time. Veteran actress Soni Razdan, the mother-in-law of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, has taken a cryptic dig at cancel culture amid the ongoing reports of trouble in Alia and Ranbir Kapoor's marriage.

In a post shared on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, Razdan wrote, "What's seeming increasingly idiotic: Cancel culture. People deciding for other people what is wrong with their lives and then everyone jumping into some discussion or the other about things that actually have nothing to do with them! Funny times we live in!"

The post comes days after Alia made a statement about Ranbir that attracted criticism from netizens. In a viral video, Alia showed how she applies her lipstick and said that her now-husband Ranbir, who was her then-boyfriend, would ask her to "wipe off" her lipstick because he liked her natural lip colour.

Some netizens interpreted Alia's statement as a sign that Ranbir is controlling and possessive. Others defended Ranbir, saying that he was simply expressing his preference.

Coming to the professional front, Alia recently made her Hollywood debut with the Netflix original film, Heart Of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot. Mumbai Police heighted the security outside superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s residence Mannat in Mumbai after several people gathered outside his house to protest over endorsing gaming ads. The protestors allegedly said that these gaming ads misguide and corrupt the youth. Untouched India Foundation was holding protests against ads for apps like Junglee Rummy, Zupee, and others. Mumbai Police reportedly detained 4-5 people.

As reported by Free Press Journal, a statement from the organisation read, “Famous actors and actresses work in these advertisements and they are working towards misguiding the society. The protest will be held outside Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat bungalow on behalf of Untouched India Foundation.”

Krishnchandra Adal, President of Untouched India Foundation, said, “The new generation is involved in playing Junglee rummy. If someone is playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside, the police arrest them, but big Bollywood stars promoting online games are misleading the young generation. The Bollywood stars also know it is wrong, but they are getting money so they are promoting them. We make these stars famous by watching their movies and spending our money on them. We demand these advertisements to stop. These apps are illegal, we cannot find them on Google, but these apps are uploaded on private websites.”

He added, "Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, we oppose Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj, Annu Kapoor, Rana Daggubati and cricketers who promote the online game. We wanted to protest outside the houses of these stars as well, but the police detained us."

Anees Bazmee is one of the most celebrated directors of Indian Cinema with multiple memorable comedies under his name. According to our highly placed sources, Anees Bazmee has started working on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 for Kartik Aaryan.

"Anees Bazmee and team are currently working on the script of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and are ready to take the film on floors in February 2024. The film is targeted to release during the Diwali 2024 weekend along with Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5," a source close to the director told Bollywood Hungama.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is produced by Bhushan Kumar and takes the franchise forward marking the return of Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba. "It's a cult comedy franchise. Kartik Aaryan and Anees Bazmee raised the stakes of the first part with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and are now looking to make the biggest one in the franchise. Both are excited about the reunion and have already had multiple meetings in the last 10 days for this horror comedy," the source further told Bollywood Hungama.

Apart from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Anees Bazmee is also speaking to Varun Dhawan for a comic caper, which will roll in 2nd half of 2024.

Around 10 days are left for the release of Jawan and the excitement in the air is considerable. The moviegoers in India are waiting with bated breath for the advance booking to commence. On the other hand, if exhibition sources are to be believed, then the trailers of two significant releases will be shown to the moviegoers when they venture out to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s action extravaganza on the big screen.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “The highly awaited trailer of Salaar is expected to be out in the first week of September. If all goes well, it’ll be the second biggest blockbuster in September after Jawan. The makers will be sending the trailer to theatres across the country so that it can be played with Jawan.”

Salaar stars Prabhas and Shruti Haasan and is directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. There are speculations that Salaar might be a part of the same universe as the Yash-starrer. Just like KGF, Salaar is also directed by Hombale Films. It releases on September 28.

And that’s not all. The source continued, “The trailer of The Great Indian Family will also be out next week. Yash Raj Films (YRF) will be sending the trailer to all the theatres. The exhibitors will be asked to play it. The announcement video of the film has got a good response and moreover, it stars Vicky Kaushal, who just delivered a surprise hit in the form of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023). Hence, trade and exhibitors are looking forward to this film and will happily screen the trailer of The Great Indian Family.” The family comedy also stars Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra and Sadiya Siddiqui and is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya.

Jawan, meanwhile, stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover, besides Shah Rukh Khan. Directed by Atlee, it arrives in theatres on September 7.

Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back on the big screen with the latest release, Gadar 2. The film, helmed by Anil Sharma, also stars Utkarsh Sharma. It has entered the Rs. 400 Crores Club at the Indian box office. Till now, the film has collected Rs. 439.95 crores. However, in a recent conversation, the actor was asked about the ongoing criticism that the movie allegedly perpetuates anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim agenda.

In conversation with BBC Asian Network, Sunny was asked about how the film has been considered ‘anti-Pakistani’. The actor said that both countries have “hatred among one another” since the partition. “I think people in both countries are like let it all go, we are normal humans on both sides,” he said in Punjabi. He added that a story has to have a villain and a hero.

“But throughout the film, whenever I have portrayed any character, I have never run anyone down. I don’t believe in that. Even Tara Singh is not that kind of person, not that kind of character. And I believe in such cinema,” he added.

“But we need to look at cinema, it’s not trying to affect this side or that side. That’s not what we are. We are global, we are for everyone. It’s only when it’s read and spoken by a certain sectors of people, then that thoughts come in time. Majority don’t do that, it’s a handful of people. That’s when the wave comes,” he added.

When asked about the religious imagery around the villain of Gadar 2 when the current climate has been very disturbing, he said, “Don’t take these films so seriously. There’s so much rubbish happening on digital and even news channels. Cinema comes for entertainment.” However, Deol said that movies have a certain exaggeration to make them look good or bad.

Post the super success of Pathaan, there has been keen excitement for Shah Rukh Khan’s next release, Jawan. The anticipation for the Atlee Kumar directorial venture has been increasing each passing week after the makers released the prevue of the film. It indicated that the movie is going to be a complete mass affair with SRK portraying different avatars.

Now, some more details about Jawan are out. It is learnt that the movie is 2 hours, 49 minutes and 14 seconds long, which comes down to 169.14 minutes. One must take note that this is the runtime of only the Hindi version of the movie. It will also be releasing in Tamil and Telugu languages. The movie has received a UA certificate from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that SRK, Nayanthara and music composer Anirudh Ravichander will be attending a special audio launch event for Jawan in Chennai on August 30.

While there has been much talk among the cinegoers on whether the makers of Jawan will release the final trailer, SRK, just some time back, shared a teaser of the film’s next song ‘Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya,’ which will be released in the days to come. This will be the third song from the film to be launched after ‘Zinda Banda’ and ‘Chaleya’.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jawan will be released in theatres worldwide on September 7.

With only two weeks left before the release of Jawan, the anticipation for the Atlee directorial starring Shah Rukh Khan is on a full-time high. SRK and his looks in Jawan have intrigued the audiences since the launch of the prevue. The two songs ‘Zinda Banda’ and ‘Chaleya’, released in three languages, have also intrigued the audiences. Now, the makers plan to hold a grand audio launch in Chennai on August 30, 2023.

It is being reported that Shah Rukh Khan will join his co-star Nayanthara and director Atlee Kumar in Chennai on August 30 for the event. It is also a special occasion as the country will be celebrating the festival of Raksha Bandhan. It is also said that music composer Anirudh Ravichander will be in attendance and fans can expect a grand audio launch event.

Furthermore, the advance bookings for Jawan will reportedly start in India on August 27. It has already begun overseas.

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will be released worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Veteran lyricist Dev Kohli passed away today at his residence in Mumbai. He was admitted at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for about three months for age related issues. He was discharged just 10 days ago. He breathed his last today at 4 am. He was 81. His last rites would be conducted today at the Oshiwara Crematorium in Mumbai.

Dev Kohli wrote songs for over 100 Bollywood movies. He started his career in the early 1970s with films like Lal Patthar, Khoon Khoon, Salaakhen, etc. He acquired more fame in late 1980s and 90s for his work in successful films like Maine Pyar Kiya, Patthar Ke Phool, 100 Days, Bhabhi, Khiladi, Balwaan, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Baazigar, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Kaante etc.

Kohli was active in films till around 2007-2008. Along with romantic films, he also wrote lyrics for David Dhawan comedies like Judwaa, Gharwali Baharwali, Biwi No. 1, Jodi No. 1, Kyun Kii… Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta and Chor Machaye Shor, thereby proving his versatility.

The veteran lyricist was known for working with a number of well-known music composers like Shankar-Jaikishan, Raam Laxman, Ravindra Jain, Anu Malik, Anand-Milind and Anand Raj Anand.

Imran Khan, who has stayed away from Bollywood for quite some time now, surprised his social media followers by reminiscing about his past work with a post on Break Ke Baad (2010). While we have rarely seen the actor look back at his Bollywood films, the actor confessed that his recent post on the Deepika Padukone starrer was his attempt to ‘reshape’ his relationship with films, further adding that he paid too much attention to the negativity around his movies, rather than focusing on the love it received.

Recently, Imran Khan took to Instagram to share a note about his rom-com Break Ke Baad. Later, on August 24, he shared a series of posts on his Instagram story, wherein he remembered the reactions he received for the film in a heartfelt note saying, “If you're wondering why I'm looking at the past so much... it's because I'm reshaping my relationship with my films. To be clear, I'm not blaming anyone for anything; all opinions are valid, and not everyone will like the same things... that's normal. Unfortunately, at the time, I was only able to look at things from a negative mindset”.

Furthermore adding, “As such, here is how I remembered Break Ke Baad", the actor shared a post filled with negative reviews and backlash he got for the romantic comedy. Followed by the same, he shared another post wherein he said, “That was then.” After this, he posted another set of reviews he received from netizens and fans on social media, where many of them appreciated BKB, stating that it is close to their heart and that they are really fond of the movie. In his final post, Imran concluded, “And here's where I realize my mistake; I piad so much heed to the voices that hurt... and I never valued the voices that loved. What a fool. I won't make that mistake again. Thank you all for helping me change my perspective.”

Imran Khan was last seen in the film Katti Batti in 2015 alongside Kangana Ranaut. While the actor had earlier revealed that he is keen on becoming a director, we wonder if his latest post could have been a hint towards his acting comeback!

Netflix announced the title and premiere date for one of its most anticipated films. Jaane Jaan, helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan in her OTT debut, Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma, will launch on 21st September 2023. The announcement has been long awaited by Kareena Kapoor fans who are also in for a treat as the film launches on her birthday.

Dream Girl 2 Movie Review: DREAM GIRL 2 works due to the plot, funny scenes, commercial treatment and performances.

DREAM GIRL 2 is the story of a man who pretends to be a woman. Karam (Ayushmann Khurrana) lives with his father Jagjit (Annu Kapoor). Karam is jobless and both organize jagrata evenings for a living. Jagjit owes Rs. 40 lakhs to a bank and has also taken loans from other institutions and neighbours. Karam loves Pari (Ananya Panday) and her father Jaypal (Manoj Joshi) refuses to get his daughter married in a family with such financial conditions. He makes it clear that Karam can marry Pari once he's debt-free and after he accumulates Rs. 25 lakhs in his bank account. Karam is given six months to achieve these goals. This is when Karam's friend Smiley (Manjot Singh) asks him to dress up as a woman and perform at Sona Bar, where the latter works. Karam reluctantly agrees. Karam masquerades as the hot and sexy Pooja and asks Sajan Tiwari aka Sona Bhai (Vijay Raaz) for a job. Sona Bhai gets smitten by 'her' and allows 'her' to dance at his bar. Meanwhile, Smiley is in love with Sakina (Anusha Mishra). Her father Abu Saleem (Paresh Rawal) agrees to the union but first, he wants his son Shahrukh (Abhishek Banerjee) to get out of depression. He agrees to pay Rs. 10 lakhs to anyone who can cure his son. Smiley asks Karam for help. Karam agrees as it would solve Smiley's problem and also, he'll be able to fulfill his goal faster. Karam masquerades as Pooja the psychiatrist and tries to cure Shahrukh. His efforts prove futile. Abu Saleem, however, is impressed with Pooja and fixes Shahrukh's marriage with 'her'. Abu also announces that he'll pay Rs. 50 lakhs to Pooja's family in return. Karam is livid but at the insistence of Jagjit, he agrees. Since Abu has decided to marry Sakina with Smiley a day after Shahrukh and Pooja's wedding, Karam is asked to manage for just one night with Shahrukh. The marriage takes place but things go for a toss the next day. On top of it, Karam hasn't told Pari that he's pretending to be Pooja. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Naresh Kathooria and Raaj Shaandilyaa's story is simple and has all the trappings of a commercial blockbuster. Naresh Kathooria and Raaj Shaandilyaa's screenplay is interesting. Some moments are too funny and well thought out. Raaj Shaandilyaa's dialogues are hilarious and very witty. The one-liners are one of the USPs of the film.

Raaj Shaandilyaa's direction is praiseworthy. He gives the film a very mainstream treatment. He has peppered the film with hilarious and even bizarre characters and that’s what one expects in a comic caper. He lays out the plot neatly and ensures a lot of crazy stuff is happening in the film every second.

On the flipside, the narrative seems too quick. The usage of songs like ‘Naiyo Lagda’ and ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’ is forced. The climax speech also doesn’t work. It’s bewildering to see Karam making Pari feel guilty when it was the former who lied to Pari about where he was getting the money from.

Speaking of performances, Ayushmann Khurrana is in top form. He looks quite sensuous as Pooja and impresses with his drag act. Ananya Panday is decent, but her screen time is limited. Annu Kapoor is nice, and Paresh Rawal is impressive. Rajpal Yadav (Shaukiya) is funny. Manjot Singh is dependable. Manoj Joshi is okay, and his lisp seemed unwarranted. Vijay Raaz could have been funnier. Abhishek Banerjee is fair. Anusha Mishra is hardly there. Asrani (Dadaji) is memorable. Seema Pahwa (Jumani) does quite well. Sudesh Lehri (Baby Baba) is forgettable, and one wonders why he was there in the first place. Ranjan Raj (Tiger Pandey) is the surprise of the film. Sapna Sand raises laughs as the school principal.

Music is average. 'Dil Ka Telephone 2.0' is the best track of the lot. 'Naach', 'Jamnapar' and 'Main Marjawangi' don't create the desired impact. Hitesh Sonik's background score is a bit loud, and it works for a film of this genre. C K Muraleedharan's cinematography is neat. Ankita Jha's costumes are realistic but for Ayushmann's character of Pooja, it's quite vibrant as per the requirement. Rajat Poddar's production design is satisfactory. Hemal Kothari's editing is too quick.

On the whole, DREAM GIRL 2 works due to the plot, extremely funny scenes, commercial treatment, and performances, especially that of Ayushmann Khurrana. At the box office, it has the potential of scoring big time with its target audience.

Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back on the big screen with their latest release, Gadar 2. A sequel to the 2001 release Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the film helmed by Anil Sharma also stars Utkarsh Sharma. The film entered Rs. 400 crore club at the Indian box office on August 23. However, 'Main Nikla Gaddi Leke' and 'Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava' music composer Uttam Singh has slammed the makers.

In an interview with Amar Ujala, Uttam Singh said in Hindi, “They didn’t call me for Gadar 2 and I don’t have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should at least have the etiquette to ask me once and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”

After the film crossed Rs. 400 crore mark at the box office, Sunny Deol took to Instagram to share a video to thank the audiences. In the video, he said, "Hello everyone. First and foremost, aap sab ka bahut bahut dhanyawaad. Aapko picture pasand aayi. Maine socha bhi nahi tha. Hum log 400 cross kar chuke hai, aage jaenge. But yeh sab aapke wajah se hua hai, aapko film pasand aayi, Tara Singh pasand aya, Sakeena pasand ayi, pura parivar pasand aya. So, thank you, thank you, thank you."

Indian cinema has a long history of making films based on real-life events, and the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission is no exception. In the days since India's moon landing, many filmmakers and production houses have rushed to register film titles related to the mission.

The offices of the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), Producers Guild of India, and Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) in Mumbai have been inundated with requests.

As per a report by News 18, some of the titles that have been registered include Chandrayaan-3, Mission Chandrayaan-3, Chandrayaan-3: The Moon Mission, Vikram Lander, and Bharat Chand Par.

The report further quoted an IMPPA official who said that they are reviewing all of the requests and will only approve those that they find genuine. They are also mindful of the fact that many titles were registered after the Pulwama attacks, but not many films or web series were actually made on the incident.

The official said that they want to ensure that only those titles that are truly in the public interest are approved.

Govind Namdev was a lot in the news earlier this month when he slammed the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) on Facebook for giving an Adults certificate to OMG 2 and ordering over 20 cuts in the movie that promotes sex education in schools. Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report the same. The veteran actor has now targeted the CBFC again for the same and has also compared the situation in India with ‘conservative countries’ like UAE and Oman.

Govind Namdev shared a video on Facebook of an online portal discussing how OMG 2 has got an Adults certificate despite it being a film meant for teenagers. He captioned the post, “Even in conservative countries like UAE and Oman, students from 12th standard onwards are permitted by the Govt. to watch OMG (2) in order to let them guide in the direction of sex education. We too can learn from these countries. God bless …” For those not in the know, UAE and Oman have rated OMG 2 permissible for children above 12 to watch.

The earlier post of Govind Namdev, when he had strongly slammed CBFC over this matter, read, “Jo dimaag Censor Board ko Adipurush jaisi behuda film ko censor karne mein lagana chahiye tha who unhone OMG 2 jaisi thoughtful-progressive film ko kaatne-kootne mein kharch kar diya (The kind of mind the Censor Board should have applied to censor a ‘disgusting’ film like Adipurush, they applied it to cut and scrap a thoughtful and progressive film like OMG 2).”

Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 stars Pankaj Tripathi, Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam along with Govind Namdev in the role of a priest.

For the past few months, there have been a lot of rumours on Welcome 3. And now yet another name which has been added is that of Raveena Tandon.

Although the exact details of the characters etc. are yet to be revealed, recent reports claim that Raveena Tandon has been roped in to play a pivotal role in this comedy entertainer. If the reports are true, Bollywood buffs will see their ‘Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast’ co-stars reunite after almost two decades for Welcome 3. For the unversed, Akshay and Raveena were not only one of the most sought-after actors of the 90s era but they have also been one of the most beloved couples onscreen. Together, they have featured in films like Mohra, Barood, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, among others. Moreover, some may also be aware that the two actors were also engaged for a brief period of time but later, decided to go their separate ways. However, both of them have maintained that they share a cordial relationship with each other.

For the unversed, Raveena Tandon is married to Anil Thadani and has two kids with the film distributor and entrepreneur. Her daughter Rasha Tandon is expected to make her Bollywood debut soon. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar is married to former actress turned author Twinkle Khanna, and has two kids with her. Their son Aarav is currently studying abroad whereas they also have a 11-year-old daughter named Nitara.

Renowned actor Prakash Raj has been booked in a police station in Karnataka's Bagalkot district for sharing a meme on the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s moon mission Chandrayaan-3. A complaint was filed against the actor by Hindu organisations leaders in Banahatti police station of Bagalkote district on Tuesday. 

As per a report by PTI, the police said, “A complaint has been filed against actor Prakash Raj for his post on the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Hindu organisations leaders filed a complaint against the actor in Banahatti police station of Bagalkote district and have demanded action.”

Earlier on Sunday, Prakash Raj took to the microblogging site Twitter to share a caricature of a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “First view just arrived from Chandrayaan .. #VikramLander #justasking."

The meme was in reference to the fact that the first person to walk on the moon was Neil Armstrong, an American. However, some people interpreted the meme as being disrespectful to the ISRO and the Chandrayaan-3 mission. “Hate sees only Hate.. i was referring to a joke of #Armstrong times .. celebrating our kerala Chaiwala .. which Chaiwala did the TROLLS see ?? .. if you dont get a joke then the joke is on you .. GROW UP,” Raj wrote in an Instagram post.

Prakash Raj has since clarified that he did not mean to disrespect the ISRO or the Chandrayaan-3 mission. He said that the meme was just a joke and that he did not mean to hurt anyone's sentiments.

Shabana Azmi, who is recently receiving a lot of love for her role as Jamini in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, has been warning others of phishing scheme. According to the actress, someone has been misusing her name, and messaging her friends and acquaintances. The actress has taken to social media to warn her near and dear ones about the imposter, further asserting that she will be lodging a complaint soon in the cyber cell regarding the incident.

In a notice shared by Shabana Azmi on her social media account on X, which was previously known as Twitter, it read It has come to our notice that some of our colleagues and associates, have received messages purported to be from Ms Shabana Azmi. These are clearly “phishing” attempts asking responders to make purchases on App Store for the messenger.”“ Further, asking the netizens to beware of such scams, the notice read, “Please do not reply or pick any calls/messages that appear to be coming to you from Shabanaji. This is a cybercrime of impersonation, and we are making a police complaint. As of now the two numbers from which these messages have been reported are +66987577041 and +998917811675. Thank you.”

Although no further details on the same has been reported, Shabana has asserted that a legal action will be taken against the impostor and other perpetrators.

It featured her alongside Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan with Ranveer Singh as the male lead. The film received a lot of appreciation for the way it dealt with subjects like cultural differences, body shaming, respecting women, extra marital affairs, among others and released on July 28.

Following the announcement of Don 3 starring Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar seems to be returning to the acting game. The actor is reportedly in talks to star in the Hindi remake of the 2013 Hollywood movie Begin Again. It will be produced by Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment and helmed by Nitya Mehra. The paperwork for the project is underway and once it is completed, the makers plan to announce it.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, a source revealed, “Farhan, and Nitya in talks for a musical comedy for a while now, and things are in advanced stages of development at the moment.   It’s said to be a remake of the 2013 Hollywood classic, Begin Again, and will go on floors by the end of this year with a start-to-finish schedule. The film chronicles the journey of a musician, who goes on to produce an album that breaks all the records.”

The source added, “Farhan was also committed to doing Champions for Aamir Khan Production, but the film as of today is slated to go on floors in January 2024. This will be followed by another acting assignment for Farhan, to be produced by Excel Entertainment and then finally Don 3.”

Starring Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley, the story revolves around Gretta and her long-time boyfriend Dave who are college sweethearts and songwriting partners who decamp for New York when he lands a deal with a major label. But the trappings of his new-found fame soon tempt Dave to stray, and a reeling, lovelorn Gretta is left on her own. Her world takes a turn for the better when Dan, a disgraced record-label executive, stumbles upon her performing on an East Village stage and is immediately captivated by her raw talent. From this chance encounter emerges an enchanting portrait of a mutually transformative collaboration, set to the soundtrack of a summer in New York City.

Farhan Akhtar and the female lead will be making the story keeping the Indian music industry at the centre of it.

In recent times, in a conversation with Khaleej Times, the director said, "So, my focus is currently on Don 3 and Jee Le Zaraa will be picked up post that. I'm also doing two films next year before we get into Don 3, as an actor. In January, I will start a film that is being produced by Aamir Khan Productions. It's being directed by RS Prasanna, who directed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. He's a great director. Then I will do another film for Excel Entertainment, which will start roughly in June or July. And then I get into directing Don 3." Dream Girl 2 is all set to release this Friday, August 25, and there's excitement for it among audiences. Despite competition from Gadar 2, the comic caper has managed to generate a buzz and has also had decent advance sales till now. The film has undergone the process of censor certification twice in the last one week. Bollywood Hungama in this special report will throw light on this aspect.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) awarded a U/A certificate to Dream Girl 2 on August 16. However, the Examining Committee asked for four changes. They muted the word 'b*****d' at two places. A dialogue on circumcision, 'Phir se khatna karwaoonga, jitna bhi bacha hai', was deleted along with the visuals. Some modification was carried out in the dialogue 'Behen kyun de di'. Finally, an anti-smoking ad was inserted before the start of the second half and an anti-smoking ticker was placed in the smoking scenes. The censor certificate was granted on August 16. At that time, Dream Girl 2's run time was 133 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 13 minutes.

However, on August 21, the makers approached the CBFC again and voluntarily removed as much as 28 minutes of the film. At the same time, they also added 25:31 minutes of footage. In all, the makers deleted 12 scenes and added 16 sequences. An insider told Bollywood Hungama, “It is very rare for a filmmaker to add and remove so many scenes voluntarily in his/her, that too after receiving the censor certificate.” Once these changes were carried out, the final run time of Dream Girl 2 turned out to be 130 minutes, that is, 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Dream Girl 2 stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz and others. It is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, who also helmed Dream Girl’s first part, which was released in 2019.
